My favorite dog-friendly accommodations in Spain and France

If you are a dog owner you know how hard it can be to leave them behind when you are off traveling. When we were living in the US we never took our dog anywhere, mainly because we spent our vacation days across an ocean but also because it was very difficult (and EXPENSIVE!) to find decent hotels that would accept pets.

Europe was a complete game changer though. Even though she was only able to spend her last years of “retirement” with us here, our dog, Edie went with us everywhere; País Vasco, Provence, the Pyrenees, and Costa Brava to name a few places. And while our best travel companion is no longer with us I am always taking note of which places are dog friendly wherever we stay. So here is a compilation of my favorite pet-friendly boutique hotels within a few hours driving distance of Barcelona. Hope you and your bff enjoy!
